This exhibit focuses on design elements of the famous 1939 film adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. Items on display include replicas of the Ruby Slippers and the Cowardly Lion's "Courage" medal, an early draft script, and a prototype for the Flying Monkey's costumes. If I Only Had Christmas television movie, The Hallmark Channel. A Hallmark Christmas romance movie, first shown in 2020 and based (extremely loosely) on The Wizard of Oz! Candace Cameron Bure stars as Darcy Gale, a publicist who teams up with Huck, a cynical business owner played by Neil Webb, to help out a charity in need. It airs many times at Christmas, and occasionally at other times throughout the year (check your local television provider for exact time and channel on your system). January 17-18, 2026: Follow the Yellow Brick Road: An Oz Film Festival, Museum of Pop Culture, Seattle, Washington. Celebrate Oz on screen with this film festival honoring both The Wizard of Oz and one of its most famous fans, director David Lynch. Here's the schedule:

Originating from the O2 Arena in London, this worldwide singalong of a Wicked medley celebrates thirty years of Young Voices International, the world’s largest youth music education organization. April 9, 2026: Return to Oz 40th Anniversary Screening, The Castro Theatre, San Francisco, California. The legendary San Francisco theater is opening again after renavations, and part of the program will be a rare theatrical screening of the 1985 Disney movie Return to Oz to celebrate it's fortieth anniversary (maybe a few months late).
