Published in 1993 by Books of Wonder, the novel takes off from the events of L. Frank Baum's Tik-Tok of Oz. Queen Ann of Oogaboo, last seen failing to conquer the world, still wants to go out on an adventure. She decides to search for her parents, who disappeared many years earlier. Her former army doesn't want to be drafted into the search party, however, so Ann decides to ask some of the children of Oogaboo to come with her instead. Through a number of adventures and visits to odd new Ozzy towns, Ann comes close to finding her parents, only to end up in danger herself!
In addition to Queen Ann Soforth of Oogaboo, old friends the Shaggy Man and Tik-Tok also appear, and Ozma herself discovers an important clue. New characters include Jo Fountainpen, Jo Dragon, and Jo Musket, three of the most adventurous boys of Oogaboo; Moretomore, a small dragon with more than one secret; and Jodie Buttons, an Oogaboo girl looking to make a name for herself.
